Non Drivable, Damaged vehicles.

Question.   Are you able to transport non drivable vehicles?

Answer.    We require a certain standard when transporting non drivable vehicles, they need to have a working handbrake, brakes and steering wheel in order to transport. If they are also damaged then they are not able to be transported due to safety reasons.

Q. Can I leave the alarms associated with the car on?

A. All non-standard alarms and immobilizers need to be disabled prior to taking the car into the depot or having it collected.

Q. What is your minimum ground clearance?

A. If your vehicle is going to be transported then it must have a minimum ground clearance of 15cm.

If for some reason your vehicle is lower than the 15cm ground clearance required the please contact our team and one of our staff will be able to assist you with a separate price for this particular service

Answer

Unfortunately you are not able to fill the car with any personal belongings.

You can leave a baby seat in the vehicle as long as it is secured.

The only thing that can be transported in the car is the spare Tyre the jack and any documents related to the vehicle can be left in the glove box.

We do offer a special service for people wishing to leave items in the boot, so please reply to your quote and we can work out a possible solution for you

Why does my vehicle need to empty prior to transport?

The trailers are planned and loaded according to the weight and dimensions of the vehicles being transported as required by the relevant State and Federal Guidelines.

The carrier seeks to provide a safe workplace for its employees and goods coming loose from vehicles can possibly result in injury or damage.

Does my vehicle need to be registered?

No, as long as the vehicle can be driven onto the truck we can assist with transport.

However please note that at time of booking you will need to provide either the last 6 digits of the VIN.

If the vehicle still has plates then the number on the plates, this is for ID purposes only.

Do I need to remove external accessories from my car?

Please check with office when you make a booking as this can be assessed based on which carrier, and the overall height of vehicle.

Can I leave a baby car seat in the car?

Yes. The car seat can stay as long as it is secure.

What items can be left in the vehicle ?

Spare wheel, jack, can only be left in the vehicle.

Can you transport non drivable vehicles ?

There is a certain criteria that must be met to move non drivables. So please ask the staff and they can help.

 

How heavy is too heavy to transport

If you have a vehicle that is heavy commercial we can sometimes provide you with a service for transport depending on the size and weight

You are able to submit a non standard quote through online or possibly give us a call in the office with the dimensions and weight to give to us as we do have some restrictions when it comes to larger vehicles.

We are often asked if we can collect vehicles from an Auction House, and in short the answer is a big YES.

There are a few things we need to address to do this successfully, and these are as follows

Also different auction houses have different rules, so here are the requirements from two of the biggest ones we collect from, smaller auction houses may have different rules, so we suggest you double check with them direct prior to booking, as if we are not given all the details that is required you may be charged a futile fee, as the auction house may well turn our car carrier away.

This will give us permission to collect the vehicle *

The Customer must provide us with a copy of their photo ID. This must be of the person who has purchased the vehicle. *

The Customer must send a letter of consent through to Greys on line attention to So that they are notified and have permission to release the vehicle to the car carrier. *

The booking must contain a lot number, this information is on the Congratulations email, we are not to process a booking without it.

Q. Can anything be left in the vehicle during transport?

A. In most cases the vehicle needs to be empty of all personal belongings and extra items, if you have a car seat that you wish to leave in the car then that is fine as long as it is secured.

If you do possibly have some items you would like to transport in the car then you can give us a call in the office as some routes do allow for this service.

Q. I am about to book my car in for a collection but nobody will be there when you collect, is it ok if I leave the car keys in the letterbox?

A. No, in regards to the collection and delivery of the vehicle somebody must be available to physically hand over the keys and signing over for the vehicle.

Q.   It says you can leave a baby seat in the car as long as it is secured but what about a pram?

A.   A pram cannot be left in the vehicle during transport only things like the jack, spare tyre and any vehicle manuals and tools that belong in the car is ok to be transported so anything else has to be removed.

There are some routes that can be covered allowing items in-car, but with a surcharge, please just ask.

Boats and Trailers.

Unfortunately we cannot provide you a price as we only transport cars, trucks, and 4WD at the moment.

If you have a small truck, bus or even vehicles that may be higher, wider and longer than standard as long as you provide the dimensions we can process a quote for you.

Yes, your vehicle is subject to a quarantine inspection and is subject to additional charges that may occur to customers.

These rules apply with all vehicles that travel into Western Australia and Tasmania.

This may incur a surcharge of approx $110.00. It pays to ensure vehicle is as clean as possible prior to transport.

Can I choose where on the carrier my vehicle will sit?

Unfortunately you are not able to choose where your vehicle will sit on the car carrier.

They are placed depending on the schedules they have ahead of your delivery.

Can I change a booking once I have received my confirmation.

Yes. You can change a booking.

However we do reserve the right to charge an administration fee if there is an excessive amount of changes.

Fees do occur if for example you booked depot to depot, and now want us to collect.

 

Must there be someone there at pick up and delivery of the car?

Yes. The keys have to be handed over and a condition report will need to be signed by the person on the booking request.

A person must sign at pick up and at delivery.

How long are quotes valid for?

In general terms our prices really only change as the price of fuel changes, and these changes tend to happen at the end of each month

So normally any quote you obtain will be valid for the whole of the calendar month, however as from time to time we have a few special prices that may only be valid for a few days or weeks, we cannot guarantee that all prices are valid for any more than a few days

If in doubt please just reply to your quote and ask if it’s still valid or give us a call to discuss.

What is the address for the Darwin Depot

On your quote you will be provided the suburb location for the depots.

Once you have filled out a booking request and payment has been received we will then email you a confirmation email with the full address for the depots required as well as a car carrier ref # that is needed when dropping the vehicle in to the depot.

Q. I have purchased a car interstate and was wondering if you could hand the cash over to the seller when you collect the car?

A. Currently we do not accept money to pay a third-party,

We will only provide service in the transportation of the car and do not get involved with this type of decision.

cancel my bookingIf a booking request has been made and payment has been received we have the right to withhold a cancellation fee anywhere between $80-$195 depending on the circumstances.

Please be aware that if the carrier has already collected your car, then additional cost would be taken from payment

Payment of transport.

Payment can be made by Direct Deposit transfer into our Bank Account or Credit Card.

If payment is made by Direct Deposit please keep in mind that from the moment you make payment it can take up to 48 hours to show and a booking cannot be confirmed until the payment has shown on our systems.

Sometimes the payment can process overnight this means it will be booked and confirmed the following day.

If payment is made via Credit Card then the payment will show instantly so your booking can be processed for you within the day you make payment, Credit Card payments can be made by contacting the office.

Please note 2% surcharge is currently in place for payments by Master Card and Visa, and 4% for American Express.

There is no surcharge for direct deposit.

Unfortunately you cannot make payment when arriving into the depot payment must be made in full and received on our systems several hours prior to you dropping the vehicle to the depot.

Can I be issued a Tax invoice?

On all bookings there is a section to complete if you wish to receive a Tax Invoice.

When making a booking make sure you complete all relevant areas and a Tax Invoice will be issued on booking confirmation.

Is C.O.D. available?

No. All movements of cars and other vehicles must be prepaid

How do I make payment?

Payment can be made either via Direct Transfer to our Bank Account, or by credit card using this page on our website Paying For Transport Cars

Please note 2% surcharge is currently in place for payments by Master Card and Visa, and 4% for American Express.

There is no surcharge for direct deposit.

Payment cannot be made at any of the depots.

Can I pay the driver when he collects the car?

Drivers cannot accept payment, for all payment options please check the website.

Question.      Can I request a time to have my vehicle collected/delivered?

Answer.        It is not possible to request a pickup and drop off time. The pickup/deliver will normally take place between working hours Mon – Fri.

You will receive a phone call the afternoon before or the morning of pickup/delivery and be advised of a time.

Depot opening hours.

The Depots are not open on Weekends or most national public holidays the depot hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm this also means for collection or delivery of the vehicle for a nominated address.

If you are dropping your vehicle into the depot then payment needs to be received and showing on our systems 24 hours prior to you dropping the vehicle to the depot.

If a weekend pick up for a car is imperative, we do have carriers that can facilitate that for you for an extra fee, so please just email and ask for price

 

 

How specific are the pickup and drop off times?

The afternoon before or the morning of collecting the vehicle the carrier will contact the necessary person to advise them a window period of time of when they will be collecting the vehicle.

The will do the same at the delivery end also.

Can you guarantee transit times?

Transit times are an estimate only

These are estimates only and are based on business days.

Weather and other circumstances may arise beyond our control which can sometimes cause delays.

How much notice do you need when booking a collection from the nominated address?

Depending on where you are going from, if it is within a Metro area of major city then a booking request can be made and payment can be received at the latest 48 business hours prior to the vehicle being collected.

If for example you are requesting a collection from a rural area then we need to receive a booking request and payment at the latest 3 business days prior to the vehicle being collected.

What are working days?

Working days are Monday to Friday.

Do you pick up cars from country residence or strictly metro?

We can arrange car and vehicle transport to and from almost anywhere in Australia.

Do you pick up on Weekends?

No, Monday to Fridays only.
