Address collection, depots and meeting points

The offered handover arrangement depends on the route, carrier and access. Some services use address collection or delivery; others require a depot or agreed meeting point. Do not assume every Canberra address is covered by door service.

Describe narrow access, height restrictions, steep driveways and limited turning space. Read our call-to-meet guide if that option is offered, and confirm the meeting location and contact arrangements before handover.

What affects price and timing?

The journey, vehicle size and condition, access and available capacity affect the quote. Disclose low clearance, modifications, damage or a non-running car so any special handling can be assessed.

Capital-city services generally operate five days a week, but frequency does not guarantee a collection date. Use the capital-city transit grid for broad business-day ranges starting at collection or depot drop-off. Confirm the estimate for your selected service and discuss any deadline before booking.

Most vehicle quotes are instant, with some enquiries taking a few hours. For an enclosed option, obtain a standard quote first and reply requesting enclosed upgrade rates.

Prepare the vehicle

• Have about a quarter tank of fuel; for an EV, ensure it is charged and follow the carrier’s charge instructions.
• Check that the vehicle’s condition matches the booking, including starting, braking and any disclosed faults.
• Photograph existing damage, remove valuables and arrange keys and available handover contacts.
• Follow the vehicle preparation checklist and your carrier’s instructions.

Cover and updates

Cover, limits, exclusions and claim procedures vary by carrier and service. Check the terms supplied with your quote; do not assume comprehensive insurance is included. We recommend arranging your own suitable insurance and confirming with your insurer that the planned transport is covered.
