Your use of our site is deemed to be your acceptance of these Terms of Use.

1. Privacy & Anti-Abuse

IP addresses and related technical information may be recorded when you use our website or quote service. An IP address can be personal information where it identifies you or makes you reasonably identifiable. See our privacy policy for information handling and privacy requests.

2. Intellectual Property & Copyrights

The presentation, design, and material displayed on this site are the intellectual and physical property of Moving Cars and are protected under Australian and International Copyright Law. Content or graphics may not be duplicated or distributed without express written consent.

3. Liability & Our Position

Moving Cars acts as an agent on your behalf to obtain the best possible price and service. We do not directly transport the vehicles ourselves.

Agency Model: You understand that responsibility for transporting your vehicle lies with the agreed carrier.
Carrier Terms: By booking, you agree to the specific carrier's terms and conditions.
Damage Claims: If any damage occurs, the carrier themselves will deal with this for you as the primary service provider.
"As Is" Basis: This site is presented on an "as is" basis without warranty concerning technical inaccuracies.

4. Conditions of Transport

These requirements apply to standard drivable transport. Unregistered, damaged and non-running vehicles can be assessed for a separately agreed specialist service. Disclose the condition before booking so the carrier can confirm the suitable service and any exceptions. See non-running vehicle transport.

Vehicle Status

• Drivable & roadworthy condition
• Functioning brakes & handbrakes
• Able to start/run without a jump start
• Windows and roof must be intact

Dimensions & Weight

• Minimum 150mm (6 inch) clearance
• Standard height: Below 1.90m
• Max weight: 3 tonnes (unless prearranged)
• Dimensions taken from furthest points

5. Transporting Goods Inside Vehicles

"Goods in Car" Policy

Every available quote offers a 'Goods in Car' option. Vehicles must be empty of personal belongings unless you have selected and booked that option.

• Limit: Follow the weight allowance confirmed for your selected carrier, route and service.
• Visibility: Goods must not block windows.
• Placement: Nothing behind the driver's seat or front passenger seats.

Selecting Goods in Car does not automatically include insurance or transit-warranty cover for belongings or damage caused by them. Check the cover and exclusions supplied with your quote, consider arranging your own insurance, and follow the carrier's packing instructions.

Report any loss or damage promptly to the carrier and Moving Cars, with your booking reference and photographs. Claims depend on the circumstances, applicable booking terms and your rights under Australian law. Nothing in this guidance excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Check the carrier's instructions for spare tyres, jacks and fitted baby seats, including how they must be secured.

6. Transit Times & Estimates

Transit times are always an estimate and cannot be guaranteed. They are calculated in business days (excluding weekends/public holidays).

Estimates may vary due to seasonal peaks, acts of nature, or carrier backlogs. We recommend that you do not plan meetings, trips, or holidays based on estimated delivery dates.

7. Cancellations & Adjustments

Written Notice: Cancellations must be requested in writing by replying to your booking confirmation email. A phone call alone does not cancel a booking.
Cancellation Charges: Cancellation charges and any refund depend on the carrier, the stage of the booking and the applicable booking terms. Ask us to confirm the charges relevant to your cancellation.
Failed Collections: A failed-collection fee may apply if the carrier attends after a late cancellation. The notice requirements and any charges depend on the carrier's applicable booking terms.
In Transit: Additional costs may apply once the vehicle has been collected. Any cancellation charges or refund depend on the work already undertaken and the applicable booking terms.
Booking Changes: Changes are subject to availability. Any administration charges or price adjustments depend on the carrier, the stage of the booking and the applicable booking terms. Check the revised arrangements and costs before agreeing to a change.
Refund Timing: Refunds usually take up to 5 business days to process. After transport has started or the scheduled transport date has passed, processing may depend on receiving a credit note from the carrier, which can add to the overall timeframe. Ask us to confirm the timing for your booking.

8. Special Conditions

Auctions

Auction vehicles on a standard drivable booking must meet the standard requirements above. Disclose damage, non-running condition or a write-off classification before booking for assessment of a suitable service. A quote must be reassessed if it does not reflect the actual condition.

WA and Tasmania Quarantine

Vehicles entering WA or Tasmania must meet the destination's biosecurity requirements. Contamination can lead to inspection, cleaning or treatment, costs and delays. Ask the carrier about applicable charges and paperwork. The carrier handles Tasmania paperwork. Read our vehicle quarantine guide.

Depots & Storage

Storage fees generally apply after two days at the depot, typically $55 per day. The collection deadline and charges confirmed for your booking and depot take precedence; check these before leaving a vehicle in storage. SMB Darwin/Alice Springs depots do not provide insurance; customers should obtain their own coverage for these locations.
