For Brisbane–Adelaide, enclosed transport is available between Brisbane depot and Adelaide depot in both directions. Any connecting address pickup or delivery outside that depot leg uses a standard carrier. Moving Cars can arrange those connections as part of the full journey; an address-to-address booking is not automatically enclosed for every leg.

Brisbane to Adelaide: plan both handovers

For a Brisbane pickup, tell us whether the car is at a home, workplace, dealership or another location. Include anything that could make collection difficult, such as a narrow street, restricted entry or limited space to load. Do not assume a carrier can collect from the exact address until the quoted arrangements are confirmed.

At the Adelaide end, identify who can receive the car and when they will be available. If you arrive after the vehicle, ask how the handover would work and whether any storage or alternative collection arrangement is offered and charged for.

Enter Brisbane as the collection location and Adelaide as the destination, using the correct suburbs or postcodes rather than city centres as placeholders.

Adelaide to Brisbane: request a separate quote

For the reverse trip, enter Adelaide as the collection location and Brisbane as the destination. A price or timetable for Brisbane to Adelaide is not a quote for the return direction.

If the vehicle is being sold, agree who will hold the keys, authorise its release and attend collection. Give the Brisbane receiving contact the delivery instructions once confirmed. Keep your purchase settlement, travel plans and transport booking coordinated without relying on an unconfirmed arrival date.

Door service or depot handover?

Compare the full arrangements, not only the transport price. If depot transport is offered, ask for the actual depot address, opening hours and identification or release requirements before deciding. Include the time and cost of getting yourself to or from the depot.

For an address collection or delivery, describe access at both ends. Ask what happens if the nominated location is unsuitable for the carrier. A nearby meeting point should be agreed, not assumed.

What affects the quote?

The vehicle’s size, running condition, transport method, pickup and delivery locations, preferred dates and available carrier service can affect the price. Tell us about low clearance, modifications, roof accessories or loading problems before accepting a quote.

Timing your move

Ask for the collection window, estimated transit time and delivery arrangements separately. Clarify whether timing is estimated or guaranteed under the offered service. If you need the car for work or an onward journey, explain the deadline before booking and plan for the possibility of changed timing.

Before the vehicle leaves

Confirm the carrier’s current requirements for fuel, keys, alarms, loose accessories and personal belongings. Do not pack the car with household goods unless the quoted service expressly permits them. Take condition photos and agree how the vehicle condition will be recorded at handover.

Can I use the same quote for the return trip?

Request a quote for each direction. Locations, dates and availability may differ, even for the same car.

Can a non-running car travel?
