Darwin, regional towns and remote properties
Capital-city services generally operate five days a week, with rural services several times per week. Confirm availability for the particular route; this does not establish a weekly service to every remote location.
For Alice Springs, Katherine, a remote property or another NT destination, explain access and any seasonal restrictions you know about. Weather and road conditions can affect collection arrangements and timing. Tell us about unsealed approaches, gates and turning space before booking.
Choose the right handover arrangement
Ask whether your quote uses address collection, a depot, an agent or an agreed meeting point. Address service depends on carrier access. Confirm depot opening hours, release requirements and any storage charges before taking the vehicle there.
If buying from a seller, arrange release authority, keys and a contact who can attend. Make sure someone can receive the vehicle at the destination or collect it when advised it is ready.
Vehicle condition and preparation
Disclose damage, low clearance, modifications or a non-running vehicle before booking. Special handling requires assessment and may not be available on the same service as a standard drivable car.
Every available quote offers a Goods in Car option. Select and book it if you want belongings to travel, and follow the confirmed allowance and packing rules. See our goods-in-car guide.
Follow the vehicle preparation checklist and the booked carrier’s instructions. Photograph existing damage and tell us if the vehicle’s condition or access changes.
Timing and transport cover
The capital-city transit guide includes Darwin journeys, counted in business days from collection or depot drop-off. Regional and remote movements need an individual estimate. An estimate is not a guaranteed arrival date.
Cover, limits, exclusions and claim procedures vary by carrier and service. Check the terms supplied with your quote; do not assume comprehensive insurance is included. We recommend arranging your own suitable insurance and confirming with your insurer that the planned transport is covered.
Ask specifically about cover during any depot storage, as well as while the vehicle is moving. Some carriers offer online tracking and others do not; confirm the update method for your booking.
