Pickup and delivery options

Handover options depend on the location and selected service. Capital cities and larger centres may offer depot or address collection and delivery. In smaller towns, handover may be at your address, through a local agent or at an agreed meeting point with the driver. Your quote confirms the available arrangement. The enclosed-network depots listed on this page identify transport connections; they are not necessarily your pickup or delivery handover points.

Enclosed transport and connecting legs

Enclosed transport is available between capital-city depots in both directions. Townsville is also part of this enclosed depot network and is treated as a capital-city depot for quoting purposes.

For Bundaberg–Adelaide, the enclosed option combines these legs in either direction:

  • Bundaberg ↔ Brisbane depot: standard carrier.
  • Brisbane depot ↔ Adelaide depot: enclosed transport.

Moving Cars arranges the full journey, including the standard-carrier connections; you do not need to organise those legs separately. This is a mixed enclosed/standard service, not enclosed transport for the entire journey.

To request enclosed rates, obtain a standard vehicle quote, then reply requesting an enclosed upgrade. Confirm the depot locations, enclosed leg and any standard-carrier connections before booking. The initial standard quote does not book an enclosed service. See the enclosed enquiry guide.

Bundaberg to Adelaide

Enter Bundaberg as collection and Adelaide as delivery, with the correct suburbs or postcodes. If the vehicle is at a surrounding property or coastal location, use that address rather than assuming a Bundaberg city quote includes it.

Describe gates, narrow driveways or any restriction that could prevent truck access. If a different handover point is needed, agree it with the carrier before moving the vehicle there.

For a household relocation, nominate an Adelaide receiving contact separately from your removalist arrangements. Explain if you will not yet have access to your new address. Ask about an offered depot option and any storage charges before relying on it as a backup.

Adelaide to Bundaberg

Enter Adelaide as collection and Bundaberg as delivery. Request a quote for this direction even if you have previously transported the same car the other way.

For a vehicle purchased in Adelaide, confirm the seller’s release arrangements, the keys and when the car will be accessible. Provide any auction or dealer reference requested for collection and disclose damage or faults before booking.

At the Bundaberg end, specify the actual destination and receiving contact. If you plan to collect from an offered depot, check its address, opening hours and identification requirements before arranging onward travel.

Compare address and depot options

Look at the full cost and effort of each offered service. A lower transport price may still require you to organise transport to a depot or collect during limited hours. Ask which handovers are included and whether any additional collection or delivery leg is part of the quote.

If you cannot attend personally, check the carrier’s requirements for an authorised representative. Keep both handover contacts informed of the confirmed arrangements.

Dates and vehicle details

Give your earliest release date and any receiving restrictions. Collection windows and transit estimates are different pieces of information; ask about both, and avoid treating an estimate as a guaranteed delivery date.

Supply the vehicle’s make, model, condition and modifications. Vehicles with loading difficulties or that cannot start, roll, steer or brake require specialist assessment. For enclosed transport, follow the standard-quote then upgrade-enquiry process.

Questions before handover

What should I have ready?

Prepare a quarter tank of fuel or a charged EV, keys and condition photos. Use the preparation checklist and the carrier’s booking instructions.

How do I compare two quotes?
